Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been won on hard surfaces

A resurgent Medvedev claimed his maiden title for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition final.

Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a difficult year, achieving just a single victory at the big events and undergoing a setback at the American major.

His varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his service game in particular - caused him exiting of the top ten and finally parting ways with former mentor Gilles Cervara.

Now training with his coach and Goetzke, he has consistently advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set win over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This marks his initial championship following the Rome competition and first on a hard court since March of the previous year.

Victory also indicates the Russian has won twenty-one victories at twenty-one various tournaments.

"It's the first time I am participating in a competition with my two daughters together, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," said ranked player the champion.

"This title is in dedication of my second daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my child my daughter was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his previous six title deciders, comprising in the German tournament previously this season.

Medvedev's retrieving play style and regular outbursts on the tennis court had led some to doubt if his capacity to play at the highest level was finished.

But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and perform aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.

Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult Frenchman, securing 4 of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.

Both players swapped breaks in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his first tour title, gained dominance to force a final set.

Moutet rescued 4 early-game break points in a tight final set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to close out the victory.

Appropriately, he earned the win with a rally at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
